The “Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)” on Sunday  released the pictures of some of Hamas’ most wanted  “terrorists” it said it has killed since the start of the  Israeli onslaught in the Gaza Strip more two weeks ago.

An Israeli spokesman told foreign reporters  in Jerusalem that the world community, especially Americans and Europeans, shouldn’t be deceived by the ostensibly young age of the killed terrorists.

“They may look young to you and me. But these people are terrorists at heart. Don’t look at their deceptively innocent faces, try to think of the demons inside each of them.”

Many of the almost 900 Palestinians killed in Israel’s war on Gaza have been civilians, while thousands of others have received treatment in hospital.

Israel Using Phosphorus

Human Rights Watch has called on Israel to stop using white phosphorus which it says has been used in military operations in the densely populated Gaza Strip.

The US-based group said that its researchers observed the use of the chemical, which can burn away human flesh to the bone, over Gaza City and Jabalya on Friday and Saturday.

“We went by Israeli artillery units that had white phosphorus rounds with the fuses in them,” Marc Garlasco, a senior military analyst at Human Rights Watch, told Al Jazeera.

“Clearly it is [white phosphorus], we can tell by the explosions and the tendrils that go down [and] the fires that were burning,” he said.

“Today there were massive attacks in Jabalya when we were there. We saw that there were numerous fires once the white phosphorus had gone in.”

Kanoute Facing Palestine Shirt Fine

Sevilla striker Frederic Kanoute is facing a fine from the Spanish football federation for revealing a T-shirt expressing support for Palestine during a match.

Kanoute lifted his Sevilla shirt over his head after scoring in the team’s 2-1 Copa del Rey win over Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday to display a black T-shirt on which the word “Palestine” was printed in several languages.

The federation’s Competition Committee is expected to study the incident on Friday.

Yellow card

Kanoute, who was born in France but plays internationally for Mali, is a practicing Muslim.

Kanoute’s action, which has been interpreted as a response to Israel’s recent attacks on Gaza that have killed nearly 700 people, was met with a yellow card from referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz.

UN:No fighters in targeted school

The head of the UN agency in Gaza running the school that was attacked by Israel forces has rejected claims that Hamas fighters were inside the converted shelter.

The Israeli military accused Hamas of using civilians sheltering inside the building as “human shields” and said its troops had returned fire after fighters fired mortars at their positions from within al-Fakhora school in the Jabaliya refugee camp.

But John Ging, the director of operations in Gaza for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (Unrwa), told reporters that he had visited the school during a three-hour lull in the fighting on Wednesday and “was reassured by the management of the school … that there were no militants in the school”.
